Comments: | This house is one of the earlier houses built in Memorial Bend and it was designed by its original owner, Charles Wood. Wood was a classmate of neighbor Gil Thweatt at the Rice Institute. He worked for several years at Wilson, Morris, Crane and Anderson (later S.I. Morris). | |
Architectural Comments: | This mostly wood house is relatively shutted off from the front of the street although it features much more glass in the rear. Wood also incorporated a cathedral ceiling with clerestory windows in the common area to provide more light. The home's carport has not been converted into a garage. |
